“Aluminum Composite Material (ACM) consists of an extruded thermoplastic compound core that’s mixture bonded between two sheets of coil-coated aluminum, brushed aluminum, zinc, stainless steel or copper material. The result is a highly corrosion-resistant, rigid-yet-flexible material that weighs 3.4 times less than steel and 1.6 times less than pure aluminum.” (Reynobond)

All ACM is ordered as raw material ranging in varied sizes, but most commonly 5’ x 16’.  Before material is ordered, color samples and shop drawings must be approved.  The lead time for ACM sheets from the manufacturer is approximately 10 business days.  Assuming the material is of typical 4MM thickness, PE Core, Stocked Color. ACM is installed with a ½” reveal from panel to panel. There are 2 types of joint reveals Harper Clayton installs, a wet joint and dry joint reveals. The West-Seal system is a water tight system that will not allow water behind the panels. Our dry-joint systems are NOT water tight and will allow a small amount of water behind the panel to drain out at the bottom.

Note: 6MM thickness, FR Core and Non-Stocked colors will have a longer lead time which will vary in a case by case basis.

ACM Manufacturers

Reynobond composite material is exceptionally flat, daringly formable, surprisingly light and distinctively colorful. It integrates easily with the curtain wall, creating a seamless look for façades. And its extreme formability makes it ideal for curves and unique design accents.
